We believe prayer and care for one another is something we can all play a role in.
It is part of what it means to be family.

How prayer and care works at NPBC
Showing love and care for one another, in response to a loving God, is one of the major themes of the Bible. It also a key part of what it means to be church family.
Whilst this is sometimes called pastoral care, at NPBC we’ve chosen to call it prayer and care. This is because our heart is that whenever we show practical love and care for one another in the church family, we also pray with them too.
We also believe that the best prayer & care in a church family is owned by everyone and should primarily happen organically through friendships and life groups. The structures we have are there to provide additional support to this, rather than the other way around.
Outlined below are the 6 integrated teams we have identified to ensure the appropriate focus is there to support our whole-church response.
Opportunities to pray
We believe that prayer is a vital part of our everyday walk with God, bringing us into His presence and opening us up to His power.
Much of the prayer that happens at NPBC happens quietly in groups or when people are alone with God. However, there are 3 ways you can actively join us in prayer.
The ups and downs of life mean there are often moments when we want to pray for one another. The prayer line is a simple way of us getting the church praying whenever it’s needed, and is open for all the church family to be part of.

Your Kingdom Come
Every Wednesday 12.30-1.00pm
We meet every week in the chapel for 30 minutes of interactive and heartfelt prayer to know and encounter more of God across our church family.
Every Sunday before our services
As we gather each week, come and join us in the chapel 30 minutes before the first service begins - that’s 9.00am, or 10.00am on a single service Sunday.
More ways to show practical care

Sometimes, there are moments in life when all you want is someone to provide you with a ready-prepared homemade meal, so that you don’t have to do it for yourself.
Perhaps it’s the loss of a loved one, the birth of a baby, an injury or illness. Whatever it is, the NPBC Meal Train is here for you.
Through the generosity of our church family, we’re able to provide short-term meal solutions for those going through significant life events.

Do you know of someone who could do with being blessed, but aren’t in a position to do so yourself?
A replacement fridge for one that’s just broken? A helping hand with a financial need? A thank you voucher for doing (or persevering) with something? A well-deserved special treat like a meal out? Even a bunch of flowers?
The Be-a-Blessing Fund is here to do just that. Supported through the financial generosity of our church family, we’re able to live out God’s love by responding to the needs and opportunities we see around us.

Our heart is that anyone who wants to worship with us in person is able to. However, we know that’s not always possible, especially for those who don’t have transport of their own.
That’s where our Transport team comes in. If you need a lift to and from a church-based service or event, we may be able to help by providing a trusted driver to get you there and back.
