Devoted to being followers of Jesus who love, grow and go together.
We use these small words - love, grow, go - to help guide us in everything we do.
In response to the God who is love, we are called:
To love God more than anything else in our lives.
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.“ Deuteronomy 6:4-5
This means placing him first, and committing ourselves to personal discipleship including sabbath, solitude, prayer and fasting.
To love one another, as a way of demonstrating our love for God
“And the king will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it to me.’.“ Matthew 25:40
This means committing ourselves to the community and world we have been placed in through pastoral care; fellowship; hospitality and social action.
We are called to be disciples.
The literal meaning of this is ‘apprentices’, learning to be with Jesus, be like Jesus, and do what he did. This is a lifelong journey of growth, recognising that when we’re not moving forwards in our faith, we are likely going backwards.
We are called to grow:
In our personal relationship with Jesus, through intimate worship and prayer.
In our understanding of who Jesus is, deepening our roots in Scripture in Life Groups, on Sundays and when we’re on our own.
Through serving the church and community.
In our generosity, as we explore what it means to give everything for the kingdom of God.
As we grow, our discipleship motivates us to share the good news of Jesus with others.
We are called
to make space to listen to the Holy Spirit in our lives and worship.
to mission: bringing God’s kingdom to earth through social action and justice.
to evangelise: sharing the Gospel with those in our neighbourhoods and workplaces.
Our commitment to love, grow and go means we are always asking:
Where can I see God working?
What is my next step?
