We pray for Liz Spruce who has broken her ankle and is at home recovering. We pray that this will soon mend and we look forward to welcoming her back to worship with us.
Harold Heath-Coleman is back in hospital, and we remember him in his needs.

Carnival 2010
There is a CTNP meeting in the Methodist School Rooms at 8.00pm for all those interested in the possibility of a Christian input to the Carnival next year. It would be good to have a representative from NPBC there. Please see Catherine if you would like to attend.
Samaritan’s Purse – The power of a simple gift
As in previous years NPBC is to be a drop off point for shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse. The drop off dates for shoeboxes is from Sunday 1st November until Wednesday 19th November. If you would like to take part please take a leaflet giving suggestions of what gifts to place in your box. All boxes from this area will be going to Belarus.
Wanted: empty shoeboxes and shoebox fillers. All boxes are checked before leaving the UK to ensure they all contain similar items. Sometimes they are short of soap or toothpaste etc and these have to be bought. Therefore multiple packs of soap, pens, rubbers etc which can be used as fillers are very welcome. Please leave in the box provided in the foyer.
If you would be interested in helping to sort the boxes at Bedford from 2nd November please speak to Catherine Hall for further information.
Crossroads
If you have an opportunity to place a few copies of our church magazine (Crossroads) in public places (eg doctor’s surgeries etc) then please feel free to take a bundle and let us know how they go. Thanks, Sue Richards.
Murdoch MacKenzie
The former Ecumenical Moderator for Milton Keynes, the Reverend Murdoch MacKenzie and his wife Anne spent the period from September 2008 to February 2009 at the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey in Geneva. They are paying a short visit to Milton Keynes and the Community at the Well at Willen have kindly agreed to make arrangements for Murdoch and Anne to give a presentation about their time in Bossey on the night of Thursday, 1st October starting at 7.30pm. They will do this with a scripted talk and computer slides. The talk will last 45 minutes and they will bring other material about Bossey and the Ecumenical Institute and the World Council of Churches.
This will be an excellent opportunity to explore at first hand the types of co-operation that might be generated in the future between Bossey and Milton Keynes – and of course a lovely occasion to catch up with Murdoch and Anne. Tea and coffee will also be available at the end of the presentation for which a donation would be appreciated.
