Pastoral News: 27 June 10

We remember the family of Ethel Payne, one of the members of our Food4Thought meeting, who died recently. The service of thanksgiving for Ethel is at the Crownhill Crematorium on Wednesday the 7th July at 1.15pm, and all friends are welcome to attend.

We also remember Jessie Spall, one of our Food4Thought, who is now resident in Orchard House, Wolverton, following a spell in hospital.

We are planning a short service of thanksgiving and celebration for the life of Adrian King, our member and Deacon, who died earlier this year. This will be in the Tickford Room at 4.30pm on Sunday the 18th July and will be followed by tea. All friends of Adrian are most welcome to join us for this occasion.

Marriage of Claire and Michael

Our love and congratulations go to Claire and Michael who will be celebrating their wedding day on Saturday 3rd July at 11.30am here at Lovat Hall. Friends from the church are most welcome to attend the service.

We pray that Claire and Michael will enjoy a wonderful day surrounded by family and friends and that they will know God’s blessing and happiness in their future lives together as man and wife.

Please could we ask that if possible, those attending leave their cars offsite, to allow people who have travelled some distance to park in the Lovat Hall Car Park.

Midnight Moo Walk

Six ladies, Catherine Hall, Lucy Brown, Sue Garnham, Sarah Williams, Mandy Pateman and Hilda Kirkwood (Hilda is a friend who's joining them from Willen Church) are walking in the 10 mile Midnight Moo walk on July 17th - at midnight. If you would like to sponsor the ladies for this very worthwhile cause please add your name to the sponsor form which will be left on the table in the entrance of the church.

If you would prefer to sponsor them electronically using the justgiving website then the link is http://justgiving.com/moooonwalkers. Thanks very much for your support. It's very much appreciated by us and of course Willen Hospice.

Wanted American Flag

If anyone has an American Flag they would be willing to lend to Roger and Catherine Hall next Sunday 4th July please contact them. Thanks.

Watoto Children’s Choir visits Milton Keynes

On Tuesday 6th July at 6:30pm the Watoto Children’s Choir from Uganda will be performing in St Mary’s, Church Green Road, Bletchley. They will also be performing at the Olney Baptist Church on Wednesday 7th July at 6:30pm. All the children have been orphaned or abandoned because of AIDS, Poverty or War and have been rescued by Watoto Child Care Ministries. They now live in family groups in one of four villages established in Uganda.

The choir is undergoing a six-month European tour and last year’s choir came to Milton Keynes and were amazing. The performance is not to be missed as the enthusiasm and energy of the children is unbelievable.

For more information please visit www.watoto.com or contact Emma Beaney, e-mail info@comecloserfoundation.com or at www.comecloserfoundation.com

Invitation from the Mother’s Union

We have received an invitation from the Mother’s Union (Newport Pagnell) to the ladies of the Baptist Church to attend their branch festival, which will be held at the Parish Church on Thursday 1st July at 2.30pm. The speaker will be Jenny Mills from the URC. Refreshments will be served afterwards in the church. If any ladies would be interested in attending please give your names to Catherine Hall.

Homemade Cakes For Food4Thought

Donations of homemade cakes for next Sunday's Food4Thought (4th July) would be greatly appreciated. Please leave them in the kitchen on Sunday morning. Those attending F4T really enjoy the cakes that are provided. My thanks to those who regularly provide cakes each month.
