Pastoral News: 25 July 10

We remember our Brigades Camp commencing tomorrow at the Ballard School, New Milton, Hampshire, and pray for staff and campers alike, that they will have a safe and really enjoyable time together.

We also remember others of our church family involved in summer camps and mission activities: for Esther Price who is serving on the team of the Overstrand Beach Mission, for Jonathan Longhurst as he travels to Zambia to work in dentistry clinics during the summer, for Richard and Ruth Wilson service on the staff at the Christian Adventure Holidays at Bassenfell, and for some of our young people attending other summer camps and activities.

From the Church Meeting

At the Church Meeting on Tuesday the church welcomed six new members: Sandra Maher, Barry LeFranc, Mark and Gemma Bendall-Jones and Michael and Mandy Dillow. The meeting heard of progress on issues relating to the coming pastoral vacancy, and received the Treasurer’s report for the first six months of the year, showing the church to be in a healthy position, although much work to the premises remains outstanding. There was discussion as to how the maintenance of the church building could be effected. The meeting also heard of the updating of the Church website, and received news of some of the church’s ministries and organisations.
