Pastoral News: 25 April 10
The last email we have received from Paul and Janet indicates they are safe and well but still in Zimbabwe and staying with Carly’s parents in Harare. We pray they will be able to get a flight home soon now the flight restrictions have been lifted.
Fellowship News
We are pleased to hear that Fran (formally Whitaker) and Craig have succeeded in getting a flight home from India.
We have no update from Andrew and Cynthia since we heard they were stranded in Beijing a week ago. We pray that they are safe.
Our congratulations to Iain and Angie Row on the birth of their daughter Josephine Joy, a sister for Emily. Also, our best wishes to Chris and Linda the proud grandparents.
We remember our member Trevor Ransome as he runs the London Marathon today in aid of Willen Hospice.
Flowers 25/04/10
The flowers today are in memory of Spencer Bateman and are given by his parents Chris and Lisa, back in the USA. Spencer would have been 10 years old this coming Tuesday. “'We welcome the day to remember our precious son and to send lots of love to our NPBC family. You remain dear to our hearts still today.”

Thank you from TEARFUND
Three months have passed since the Haiti earthquake and we need to say thank you. Because, as big as this disaster was, its proportions have been matched by the staggering and inspiring response of the UK church. Your generosity has been truly amazing. You’ve prayed for those affected and those responding, and you’ve given millions of pounds. You have fuelled our response, enabling us to reach out with hope and help.
We’ve produced a short film. It will show you some of the work you’ve made possible, and tell you some stories of hope from Haiti. Log onto: www.tearfund.org/news/Haiti.
Looking ahead, more than 200,000 people lost their lives in the quake, and around 3 million were affected. The task ahead – rebuilding homes and infrastructure, and rehabilitating lives – is huge. Please continue to remember the people of Haiti, our staff, and our partners in your prayers.
Before the Haiti earthquake, UK churches and individuals had given generously to our disasters fund. This made it possible for us to respond within hours of the quake. Thank you again, for loving your neighbour as God asked us to, in thought, and word, and deed.
