Pastoral News: 18 July 10

Our member and deacon Chris Kirby has been in hospital for surgery to his knee, and we remember him and Elaine at this difficult time.

We continue to remember Michael North as he has returned home from hospital in Taunton, but will now be admitted to the Bristol Royal Infirmary for further examination and treatment. May the healing and calming presence of the Lord be with him and Joy in these days.

Our members Rod and Chris Sparkes are still awaiting their move to Taunton, and we pray for them as this event now comes very close. May they know God’s presence with them in their new home and surroundings.

Church Members Meeting

Please note our next Church Members’ Meeting takes place on Tuesday (20th July) at 8.00pm in the Tickford Room. We shall be dealing with applications for membership, hearing news of the church’s ministries, and considering the future steps for the church as we prepare for a pastoral vacancy next year. All members are encouraged to attend.

At the meeting there will be a financial report covering the first six months of this year. Copies of this report are available to church members this morning and can be collected from Richard Beesley.

The minutes of the previous meeting are available for members to read today (in the green folder by the Steward’s table).

Ladies Social Evening

Sarah Hutton is organising a ladies social evening for Friday 24th September 2010. It will be bring a pudding event and an ideal opportunity to get to know other ladies of the church that you might not get to speak to on a Sunday morning. Put the date in your diary and we’ll provide you with more details nearer the time.
