Pastoral News: 18 January 09
We remember Katy Nelson and her family in the death of her uncle just before Christmas in unexplained circumstances. We pray for the family that they will find peace in these difficult circumstances.
We are pleased to report that Harold Heath-Coleman has returned home from hospital, and remember Dorothy Paul, mother of our member Julie Williams, who has been in hospital again. May they both know God's hand of strength upon them in each day.
We pray for Keith and Barbara Bedford as Keith’s mother slowly recovers from pneumonia in Wolverhampton Hospital.
Our congratulations to Shirley and Dennis Price on the announcement last week of their first grandchild, Cameron Luke. Mother and baby are doing well and we pray for continued health.
Church Members Meeting
A reminder to all church members that the next church meeting is taking place on Tuesday 20th January at 8.00pm in the Tickford Room. Matters include membership applications, consideration of the church's new Vision Statement and Guiding Principles, an update on mission opportunities arising from that, news on the church's application to the Charity Commissioners re the new Constitution, support for those undertaking training for ministry, and the opportunity to hear reports from church organisations and groups. All members are encouraged to attend.
The minutes of the previous meeting are available for members to read today. (Located in the green folder by the Steward’s table.)
NPBC/Bethany Summer Holiday August ‘09
Bethany invites you to join them on their short break to Torquay by coach in late August staying at ‘The Overmead Hotel’. The coach will remain with the group and the cost includes all excursions which of course are optional. They hope to be able to offer a devotional time each day. Dates: Monday 31st August to Friday 4th September 2009.
If you are interested please ask Catherine Hall (612292) for a copy of the itinerary, hotel brochure and costs. There are a limited number of single rooms available at no extra cost.
Bookstall
The Bookstall will be closed for a couple of weeks for the annual stock take. Apologies for any inconvenience.
Peru Presentation
Not everyone could attend the presentation Andrew Rosier made at the end of last year of his trip to Peru with Latin Link. There will therefore be another chance on Tuesday 27th January 2009 at 7.30pm in the Tickford Room. Andy will be talking about how God used 12 people to help victims of a powerful earthquake that happened in August 2007.
Nominations to the Leadership
Please could all members ensure they receive their papers from their Vine Group Leaders regarding the election of Deacons and Elders 2009.
African Drumming Workshop
For those who have reserved places, the workshop will take place this afternoon at 3.15pm for 3.30pm in the Tickford Room, and should last for about an hour. Cost is £3.
MATRIX
February will see the publication of a unique edition of the Matrix. Now is the time to think about that story, news item, or comment. Something to encourage, stimulate or enlighten fellow readers.
Why unique? Well make sure of your copy on February 8th to find out and in the meantime get those few lines or full page article to Rod & Chris into us as soon as possible but by 1st February at the latest. Thank you.
