Pastoral News: 12 July 09
We remember those in our fellowship who are concerned about the health of their parents at this time. We particularly remember Lisa Huckle and Steve Greenfield who are both concerned about their fathers who are unwell. We pray they will know God’s peace at this time.
We also pray for Elise Dawes, a regular at out Food4Though group who has had an operation this week. Elise is now back at home and we pray for a full recovery.
Church Meeting
Would church members please note that our next church member’s meeting is on Tuesday 21st July at 8.00pm in the Tickford Room. The minutes of the previous church meeting are available for members to read this morning. They can be located in the green folder by the Stewards table.
Elder Responsible During Paul’s Sabbatical
This coming week we welcome Paul as he returns from his sabbatical study period. Eric Eyre is the duty elder until then. Thank you from the elders for your support and prayer as they sought to lead and care for the fellowship in Paul’s absence.
Pudding Club
Calling all ladies. Yes it's that time again. To celebrate (or commiserate) the start of the long school summer holidays, we are having another Pudding Club. It will be at the home of Claire Scott on Saturday 18th July from 7.30pm onwards. The evening is free, but we would ask that you collect a ticket from Lisa Huckle, so we know how many are coming and whether you are bringing a pudding or something to drink. For further enquires, please contact Lisa on 217429 (as Claire is away prior to the event).

Good morning and welcome to our service of worship which is led by Rev Geoff Colmer, Regional Minister and Team Leader of the Central Baptist Association. Geoff will be continuing the series “The James School of Excellence” with James 4 “Learn Peacemaking not Trouble Making”.
Geoff has been a Baptist Minister since 1990. In what seems like a former life, he was a professional musician playing bassoon in the English Northern Philharmonia. After ministerial training at Spurgeon’s Theological College, he served at churches in Rye and Melton Mowbray before coming to the post of Regional Minister and Team Leader in the CBA in July 2004.
Geoff continues to play the bassoon for pleasure and is now performing again. He is married to Cazz, and they have two teenage sons, Jonathan and Andrew.
eXalt
This evening at 6.00pm our next eXalt worship event will take place and will be led by Bev Wright and Jamicus.
Preaching Elsewhere
We remember in our prayers Keith Bedford and Bev Wright as they lead the service of worship at Potterspury URC this morning.
