Pastoral News: 11 July 10

We remember Michael North, a former deacon of this church, who is in hospital in Taunton undergoing a series of tests for intestinal problems, and is quite unwell at present. We pray for him, and for Joy as she visits him regularly from their home in Minehead.

We remember Karen Durley who has not been well recently, and pray for the renewal of her strength.

We pray for Fiona James and Stuart Hazell as they are married at St. Peter and St. Paul Church in Newport Pagnell next Saturday, and wish them God’s blessing on their life together.

It was a great pleasure to send our love and greetings to our members Kath and Alan Wearn as they celebrated their 68th Wedding Anniversary last Sunday – Wow!

Adrian King: A Thanksgiving and Celebration for Adrian’s life

Please note that we have postponed the service and tea planned for next Sunday the 18th July to a date in September, to allow as many of Adrian’s friends as possible to be present. Further details of the revised arrangements will follow.

Rita Nutt: A Thanksgiving and Celebration for Rita’s life

We shall be sharing in a service of thanksgiving and celebration of Rita’s life here on Sunday the 22nd August at 4.00pm followed by tea. All are welcome to join the family and friends on this occasion.

Fellowship Tea – 11/07/10

Join us on Sunday for our fellowship tea from 5.00pm. Bring your own picnic and/or purchase a freshly cooked burger or sausage from our Barbeque.

The evening will also include a friendly game of football on the field followed by live screening of the World Cup Final (from 7.30pm).

Please note that there will be a Church Members’ meeting on Tuesday 20th July at 8.00pm in the Tickford Room, when we shall be dealing with applications for membership, and considering the future steps for the church as we prepare for a pastoral vacancy next year. All members are encouraged to attend.

Thank You for the Music

Newport Pagnell Singers present an evening concert of light music for summertime on Monday 19th July at 7.30pm. The event takes place at the Methodist Church, High Street, Newport Pagnell.

Admission is £5.00 (concessions £4) payable at the door.

Celebration of Hymns

The Methodist Church invite you to its ‘Celebration of Hymns’ on Friday 16th July commencing at 7.30pm at the Methodist Church. The Milton Keynes Salvation Army Band will accompany your singing, plus there will be other items. Admission is £5 at the door or from Methodist Church Members. All proceeds to the Newport Pagnell Brooklands Centre.
