Pastoral News: 11 April 10
We remember all those who have recently lost loved ones. We remember Sheila and Jim Wiles on the loss of Sheila’s brother and Eric and Margaret Eyre on the loss of Margaret’s sister in law during the Easter weekend. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this sad time.
We pray too for Helen Austin who has been unwell and is now resting in Orchard House.
Running For Those Who Can’t
On Sunday April 25th Trevor Ransome will be running the 2010 Virgin London Marathon in aid of Willen Hospice. The 26.2 mile course could prove to be a considerable challenge for Trevor as it will be his first full length marathon - and he is now in his 70th year! It would be greatly appreciated if you felt able to sponsor him. A sponsor form is available in the foyer today. Every penny of your sponsorship money will go directly to help those in Willen Hospice who cannot run for themselves. Thank you.
New Rotas for June to September
It needs a considerable number of people each Sunday to prepare and provide the facilities needed for us to worship. If you would be willing to help with setting out the chairs, stewarding, refreshments, data projection, personal amplification, crèche, security or just want to know what might be involved please see Catherine or email info@npbc.org.uk.
Extra help is also required to help the caretaker clean and clear the premises after events on Saturday evenings usually around 11.30pm for approximately 30 minutes. Again please contact Catherine.
The new rotas are about to be prepared. If you regularly help on Sundays and are aware of dates during the summer months when you will be unavailable please advise Catherine. Thank you.
Good Friday Walk - The Re-run
The weather was unkind to us once again for our Good Friday afternoon walk. Seventeen of us (including a pushchair) braved the elements but I know that others would have liked to have joined us had it not been so wet. Therefore, we are planning to repeat the walk this afternoon (Sunday).
The only detail of the walk that is different is the start time which has moved to 3 o'clock. The start point remains the car park at 'Stonepit Field Park' which is left off the Newport to Wolverton Road just after the Black Horse.
The forecast for the weekend is promising but a final decision will be made this morning after our morning service.
