‘U-Turn’ for Amy

This summer Amy McLeod is planning to spend 3 months in South Africa working with an organisation called U-turn. U-turn works with homeless people in South Africa and provides a way for them to escape a hostile life on the streets by giving them the assistance needed to develop their skills and find work and a home.

Amy’s role will be to work directly with the homeless on the streets, providing them with basic health care and sharing with them the hope that Jesus gave us.

Amy says I know I can’t do this on my own, so if you would like to, please join me in my prayers! Also if anyone feels that they could offer me any advice or financial support I would love to hear from you. My flights are booked!!!! I will be flying out on the 26th August and returning on the 23rd November.

Prayer points. At this stage it’s mostly practical things,

· that I would be able to raise the money needed
· that the team over there will be able to find me somewhere to stay
· that in my last few months of nursing training God will equip me with the skills that I will need when I'm there

Churches Together in Newport Pagnell

It was decided at the CTNP Forum in January to not have a stall at this year’s carnival. Instead it was decided to have a planning meeting to discuss the 2010 carnival to decide what the aims are and what we can do. The Mission Group decided to have a meeting on Thursday June 11th at 7.45pm at the Methodist church to start our discussions off. We need plenty of people there to come up with ideas to hopefully present to the Forum on 18th June. If you are interested and able to attend you would be most welcome.

Disabled Toilet

Following an incident two weekends ago a new lock has been fitted to the door of the disabled toilet. This key uses The Disabiity Network's RADAR key. A copy is available in the caretaker's office and the Church office.

Membership Pack

Please would all church members ensure they receive their membership pack from their Vine Group Leader today? This was designed for new members but the leadership felt that existing members would find the information useful.
