Pastoral News: 06 September 09
We pray for Rachael Scott who damaged her index finger and needed an operation at the Royal Free Hospital last weekend. She is now home and recovering, and we pray that her finger will mend very quickly!
We also pray for Louise Finn’s sister Margaret who lives in Australia. Louise and Jim have received news that Margaret has been diagnosed with bone cancer and will have radiation and chemotherapy treatment starting next week. Please pray for Margaret and her family.
We again uphold Marvin Chilton in our prayers as he was taken back into Harefield hospital last week.
We remember members of our Bethany Centre who are in need of prayer: for Vi Steppings recovering from a car accident, for Anne Goodwin who is moving with her family to Poole, and for Georgina Keeping who is at home and very poorly.
Congratulations to…
· Rebecca Garnham on her engagement to Luke Knight
· Roy Freestone, who celebrated 50 years of ordination on Thursday
· Rod and Beth Ruston who celebrate their Ruby Wedding Anniversary today!
Thanks from Rachael Scott
Rachael Scott and family would like to thank everyone for the prayers and support received over the past week. Rachael's operation, as far as they can tell, was a success but more will be found out on Monday. We thank God for His continuing healing and appreciate your support and prayers.
God’s Time for India
Mission India is holding a series of regional events between 17th and 25th September 2009. Employment Opportunity (Part Time)
John Richards is employed by the Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus for half the week, and is developing his own Disability Awareness business called “Bridge The Gap” at other times. The Government, through an allowance, enables him to employ someone to undertake tasks which he cannot, due to visual impairment, e.g. driving, reading print, filing and some computer assistance.
The person appointed will earn £6.00 per hour, and in addition will receive a mileage of 39p per mile. Journeys for ASBAH will include trips to the ASBAH House at Peterborough and appointments throughout Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Luton. Journeys for “Bridge The Gap” are largely in the environs of MK.
Anyone interested in this role, please speak to John for further information.
