Pastoral News: 04 July 10

Our love and compassion go the Karen and Michael Dunn on the death of Karen’s mother Rita in Westbury Grange last Sunday afternoon. Rita was able to attend our Food4Thought meeting on occasions, and we had the joy in sharing in her baptism just two or three years ago here in church. Karen has asked that we might hold a service of celebration and thanksgiving for Rita, and that is planned for Sunday the 22nd August here at 4.00pm and all friends are welcome to share in that.

We remember Liz Spruce who has broken her wrist, but is up and busy as ever. We pray that the wrist will soon be healed.

Invitation

You are invited to join us next Sunday 11th July at NPBC for a fellowship tea starting at 5.00pm. Bring your own picnic and/or purchase a freshly cooked Burger or Sausage from our Barbeque.

The evening will also include a friendly game of football on the field followed by live screening of the World Cup Final (from 7.30pm)

Watoto Children’s Choir visits Milton Keynes

On Tuesday 6th July at 6:30pm the Watoto Children’s Choir from Uganda will be performing in St Mary’s, Church Green Road, Bletchley. They will also be performing at the Olney Baptist Church on Wednesday 7th July at 6:30pm. All the children have been orphaned or abandoned because of AIDS, Poverty or War and have been rescued by Watoto Child Care Ministries. They now live in family groups in one of four villages established in Uganda.

The choir is undergoing a six-month European tour and last year’s choir came to Milton Keynes and were amazing. The performance is not to be missed as the enthusiasm and energy of the children is unbelievable.
