Pastoral News: 01 November 09

Pastoral News

The service of thanksgiving for Charles Meyrick will be at Crownhill Crematorium on Wednesday at 11.30am and all friends are very welcome to attend. Sadly Charles died with no known family, and we were the only people who visited him and supported him in the latter years of his life. Our special thanks must go to Phil and Teresa Mitchell for their unstinting love and care to enable Charles to come to worship with us, and to Yvonne Higgins who visited Charles regularly during his last months at the Broomfield Home in Olney.

We continue to pray for Karen Dunn who is in Australia and will be returning in early December and for her mother Rita Nutt in Paganell Grange.

We have received the sad news of the death of Anne Goodwin in Poole, Dorset. Anne was a regular attendee at our Bethany centre for many years until her recent move to Poole, and our love and prayers go with her family at this sad time.

We continue to remember Georgina Keeping, another of our Bethany members, who is in Willen Hospice at present, and we remember her family in their care and concern for her.

It was wonderful to have Marvin Chilton at worship with us last Sunday, and we continue to pray for him as he awaits the possibility of a heart transplant at Harefield Hospital.

We are also delighted to learn of the baptism in the Isle of Man of Hannah Howitt. Hannah and her family were members of our church until they moved to the Isle of Man a few years ago.

We also remember those of our church family who work for Scripture Union, as the future of their jobs gradually becomes clear, and we pray that they will know God’s guidance and peace for their futures.

Alan Wearn underwent surgery for a new knee on Thursday, and is recovering well in hospital. We remember him and Kath in these days, and pray that he will soon be back home.

Harold Heath-Coleman has now been admitted to Westbury Grange (Friday) and we pray for him in his new surroundings, that he will quickly settle and know the love and presence of the Lord with him.

MOPS

God is growing MOPS! This is great news, but also means that moppets is also growing, and although one new mum comes through the door to MOPS, she quite often brings more than one toddler with her! Yvonne Wilkinson is looking for extra helpers with the children. Perhaps you could be that person? It’s hard work, but rewarding. If you can help out, even if it help out now and again, then please speak to Yvonne after the service.

Thanks from Keith & Elaine

Keith and Elaine would like to thank everyone for their care and support with prayer following Elaine’s recent operation.
