Churches Together in Newport Pagnell (CTNP)
Visit the CTNP Website
CTNP meets as a Forum twice annually, but much of its work is progressed
in its working groups:
- The Mission Group organises regular activities such as Open Air Services
at Easter & Christmas, Lent House Groups, Christmas cards that are distributed
around the town, a prayer vigil during the Week of Prayer for Christian
Unity, as well as other activities such as training sessions, a Welcome
leaflet for people new to the town, planning a web site (!), etc.
- The Communications Group publishes a monthly newsletter called 'Connections'
to which all of the churches can contribute; it is distributed through
the churches.
- The Social and Development Group organises a house to house collection
in aid of Christian Aid, as well as other activities such as raising
awareness of the Jubilee 2000 coalition.
- The Emergency Help Scheme to assist people in the town with activities
with which they would find difficulty, for example offering transport
to attend hospital appointments.
- A Ministers Group meets regularly for the clergy in the town.
- An Executive Group meets regularly to monitor and progress CTNP's
business.
- A Mission Group meets regularly to aid local evangelism.
One of NPBC's representatives to CTNP is Chris Whitaker (ctnp@npbc.org.uk).
CTNP's Secretary is Pat Parker of the Parish Church.
